Video Producer & Editor (Freelance, Remote, US only)

Why are we hiring for this position?

KraveBeauty is excited to embark on a new path into media production. Our mission is to press reset on how people view skincare and the industry norms. We want to empower people to live more intentionally and slow down hyper-consumerism in the beauty industry and beyond. The goal of KraveBeauty’s media vertical is to make intentional consumption and conscious capitalism sexy and we need a creative content expert to establish the voice.

 

About this position:

Are you a curious and rigorous producer & editor who loves explainer journalism?

KraveBeauty Rewinded is a show that educates, entertains and strives to provide the audience with full traceability of our everyday products. Using YouTube and Tiktok as our main platform, we want to expand how things are made, and retrace all the steps that product took to reach the customer’s shopping bag. Allllll the way to the raw materials! The show is hosted and produced by Liah Yoo (CEO of KraveBeauty, Press Reset Ventures, ACCC, YouTube Content Creator with over a million followers) and directed by Azra Sudetic (Vice media, Refinery29, Sabia Studio, Condé Nast Entertainment, Stella McCartney).

We're looking for a Producer & Editor to join our team. This is a paid, freelance role. And we aim to publish 1 YouTube video every other week with at least 2 short-form video content derived from the original content.

    Responsibilities

    • In-depth research on episode topics

    • Sourcing archive and evidence

    • Collaborating with Liah & Azra on outlines and scripts

    • Helping the team with show management and publishing tasks

    • Contributing technology topic ideas you're excited about

    • Crafting episode edits from stringout to final delivery

    • Sourcing archive and b-roll

    • Contributing topic ideas you're excited about and collaborating with the team on the overall show

    In this role, you'll be working closely with Liah & Azra across episodes. The ideal person for this role would take on more and more responsibility over time, helping to build and lead the KraveBeauty’s media production team.

    You'll need:

    • Skills in research and organization

    • Deep familiarity with content planning and effective resource management

    • Expertise in producing digital media content such as YouTube, TikTok, Podcast

    • Experience in journalism (not necessarily at a media company if you run your own journalistic newsletter or journalistic YouTube account for example, that counts!) + Deep curiosity to dig deeper into subject matter until you found the eureka moment

    • Expert-level skills in Adobe Premiere (After Effects a plus but not required)

    • Experience creating fast-pace, archive-heavy videos for YouTube specifically (experience with journalistic explainer content a plus but not required)
