Details

A creamy, nourishing serum that calms signs of sensitivity and evens out skin without the greasy after feeling. A blend of conditioning oils fight irritation, discoloration and breakouts caused by a damaged skin barrier. Skin looks clear, feels calm, and probably sounds amazing.

A Calming Hand

Our skin and the environment don’t always get along. So when you need help fighting off environmental aggressors, Great Barrier Relief is there to lend a hand. It works by repairing damage in the skin barrier—the skin’s invisible shield. Great Barrier Relief helps “glue” together tears in the barrier to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. Let your skin sigh a great breath of relief.

Deep Moisture, Hold the Grease:

Oat So Simple Water Cream + Great Barrier Relief = YES. Mix it up however you like: a dollop of each, one in the AM + one in the PM, or on different parts of the face.

Beef Up Your Barrier:

Keep your skin barrier strong with the nourishing duo of Great Barrier Relief plus Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser and turn your bathroom into an at-home skin gym.

Always vegan, cruelty-free and free of fragrances, essential oils, and colorants.

Note: Great Barrier Relief does contain 10% Tamanu Oil, which is derived from Tamanu nuts. Though most people don’t have issues using this ingredient, people with nut allergies could have a potential reaction. If you think your skin will react, we recommend performing a 24-hour patch test on your wrist and neck first and slowly integrating GBR into your routine thereafter. If you do experience an allergic reaction, stop using the product immediately and seek medical attention if needed.

Water, Propanediol, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil (10%), Dipropylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Polysorbate 60, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Glyceryl Oleate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sorbitan Oleate, Octyldodecanol, Glycerin, Butylene glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Squalane, Serine, Acetyl Glutamine, Glycine, Ceramide NP, Oleic Acid, Sodium PCA, Glycosyl Trehalose, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Saccharide Isomerate, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Disodium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Lactic Acid, Xanthan gum, Urea, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Magnesium Chloride, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Glyceryl Caprylate, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA

Step 1: #SkincareCommitment: Once you’ve used it up, time to recycle. Make sure you rinse out all leftover product before you start.

Step 2: Get the deets: Great Barrier Relief is 100% recyclable, but we recommend a quick Google search to check what can be recycled in your city. If it can’t be recycled near you, consider using TerraCycle. It’s a mail-in service that will recycle your beauty products for free!

Step 3: Chuck it in the (recycling) bin. No need to remove the labels or glue, they can be recycled too.

FYI, here are all the materials used to create Great Barrier Relief. Each number is a resin identification code, which recycling plants use to identify the types of plastic and how they should be processed.

Mighty morphing power changer

Great Barrier Relief is a natural shapeshifter. You can use it as a daily serum, substitute it for your moisturizer or as an acne treatment to transform a spot into a not.

Triple play

GBR is loaded with Tamanu Oil, a breakout-clearing, texture-smoothing, manicure-giving (beta) active that helps revive skin. Paired with Safflower and Rosehip oil, this trio of oils—a troil, if you will—calms redness, soothes irritation and nourishes dryness without a greasy feel.

She can do it all

Niacinamide a.k.a. the soccer mom of skincare ingredients is a master multitasker. It helps prevent breakouts and fades the look of dark spots for radiant, even skin. That’s good parenting.

From your nose to your toes

Don’t let your face hog all the skin-loving goodness. Great Barrier Relief can calm your neck, body, hands, or your fire sign friends.

Skin Concern: dehydration, hyperpigmentation
Age: 18-24

“This is a serum that I reach for morning and night. As someone who has experienced a lot of hyperpigmentation prior to using this, it has completely killed all of the dark spots and all the small little dark marks that I used to have on my skin. It does a really amazing job at calming my skin if I have over-exfoliated...gotten too much sun...have a really bad pimple that is upsetting me because I ate too much tiramisu... This does an amazing job at calming your skin barrier with ceramides, vitamin B3, and tamanu oil. If you have issues with a compromised skin barrier, or if you have issues with irritation, hyperpigmentation, or inflamed skin and you have been wondering if GBR was right for you... This is a sign letting you know that it is. And you're ready.”

Totally in love with this product

Great Barrier Relief is amazing. I have really oily skin, but I live in Colorado and still need to moisturize. My skin is still oily, but much less since I've been using GBR once a night since I got it. I'm about to start my second bottle. It makes my skin feel hydrated and smooth and I can tell it's helping to even my skin tone over time as I have a lot of old acne scars. I would recommend it at night for people with oily skin. I use 2 pumps for my entire face.

Not for me; disappointed!

Firstly, it smells very strongly of celery (tamanu oil) which took about 30 minutes to dissipate. Not terrible but not great. The real problem was that my skin had an instant reaction to something in the formulation and it got tiny, itchy water-filled pimples or hives on my cheekbones, under my eyes and down the sides of my face which then scabbed over. My skin is not acne prone but is very sensitive and obviously can’t tolerate this. It took about 3 days to clear up. It was definitely this product because I only used it with the matcha cleanser which I tested separately without reaction.

My miracle product

When I say this product worked miracles on my skin - I'm not kidding! I've tried everything under the sun to cure my acne over the years and was on Accutane and other prescription medication as a teen. From time to time I still get breakouts, but everything I was treating it with was causing further discomfort and irritation to my skin, and I was never able to get out of the perpetual cycle of breaking out. With this product, my super sensitive skin is completely nourished, soothed and hydrated. I can't even explain how much of a game changer this product is for me. Thank you Krave Beauty for changing my skin for the better.
