About This Position

We’re looking for a Social Video Producer with a journalist’s curiosity, a storyteller’s voice, and a TikTok-native perspective. You’ll create high-performing short-form video content that goes beyond trends and dives into real questions about skincare, sustainability, culture, and the beauty industry.

Think Vox or Refinery29 meets BeautyTok. You’ll unpack topics, challenge assumptions, and craft compelling short-form videos that educate and entertain. You’ll produce everything from research to scriptwriting to editing. And if you’re comfortable, you’ll be the voice or face of the content too.

This role is for someone who’s excited to get scrappy, make meaningful content on an iPhone, and shape the voice of our brand through smart, well-crafted stories.  You’ll be reporting to the VP of Marketing and working closely with our founder and creative team.  

What You'll Do

• Concept and create high-performing short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Research, script, shoot, and edit native videos that educate, inspire, and entertain
• Turn skincare trends, cultural moments, and sustainability topics into digestible and compelling content
• Lead the development of recurring series formats and social storytelling frameworks
• Show up on-camera as the voice/face of the brand or direct/edit others in the team or UGC creators
• Stay on top of social trends and platform shifts to ensure KraveBeauty is culturally relevant
• Create low-lift content in real-time, while also executing larger planned content initiatives
• Collaborate with brand marketing, community, and product teams to align content with launches, campaigns, and storytelling moments
• Work closely with the founder and creative team to keep brand voice, humor, and values consistent
• Analyze content performance weekly and iterate based on insights (but always prioritize experimentation + authenticity)
  

Who You Are

• 3 to 5 years of experience creating content in a journalism, media, or brand setting
• Strong understanding of TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels
• Great at writing with voice, editing with clarity, and storytelling with depth
• Able to produce content start to finish on your own using CapCut or similar tools
• Curious and investigative by nature. You love digging deeper and asking why
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with limited resources
• Personally invested in topics like beauty, skincare, and sustainability
• Excited to work in a founder-led brand and contribute to a strong, values-driven voice
  

Bonus If You...

• Have a background in digital journalism, documentary, or video production
• Have worked in a media outlet like Vox, Refinery29, NowThis, or AJ+
• Have experience turning data or research into bite-sized content
• Are a natural on camera or have experience directing others
• Are familiar with both US and global beauty trends, especially across Gen Z culture
  

Job Information

• Terms of employment: Full-Time
• Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 pending experience level
• Location: NYC, in-office 2x / week
