Social Media Content Manager (NYC)

About this position:

As the Social Media Content Manager of KraveBeauty, you will be responsible for managing and creating content across all channels for the brand. In this fast-paced, in-house role, you'll be the driving force behind our content strategy, serving as the voice of the brand across platforms. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the various social media platforms, content creation and digital marketing trends.

You will report to the Marketing Director and work closely with the Creative Team. We are seeking someone that is not only creative, but also is sustainability-minded and is craving for an opportunity to create a positive impact in the industry.

Your Role & Responsibilities at KraveBeauty:

1. Content Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a cohesive social media strategy aligned with overall marketing goals and brand objectives tailored for each social platform.
  • Develop and execute social media content calendars that champion sustainability by:
    • Highlighting KraveBeauty's existing sustainable practices and initiatives.
    • Sharing tips and information on how to embrace sustainable practices in daily life.
    • Partnering with influencers and partners who share KraveBeauty's commitment to sustainability and advocate for sustainable choices.
  • Identify target audience segments and tailor content to effectively engage and resonate with them.
  • Staying current on social media trends and new channels to ensure that content feels relevant and on trend to our community.

2. Content Creation:

  • Create compelling and shareable content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and etc.
  • Develop a content calendar that aligns with marketing campaigns and ensures a consistent brand voice.

3. Content Creator Management:

  • Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with freelance content creators.
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure freelance content aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with the target audience.
  • Work collaboratively with freelancers to develop engaging and high-quality content that meets campaign objectives.

4. Campaign Management:

  • Plan and execute social media campaigns, contests, and promotions to increase brand awareness and drive user engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social media into broader marketing initiatives.

5. Community Management:

  • Monitor and respond to audience comments, messages, and mentions across social media platforms. This includes helping develop a process that ensures our community receives responses in a timely manner, regardless of channel.
  • Foster a sense of community and loyalty among followers, turning them into brand advocates.

6. Analytics and Reporting:

  • Utilize social media analytics tools to track and measure the performance of campaigns and content.
  • Provide regular reports on key metrics, and use insights to refine and optimize the social media strategy.
  • Track and report on the social media impact of KraveBeauty's sustainability messaging, demonstrating the positive influence it has on the audience.

    Technical but important stuff

    • 5+ years of experience in social media management and content creation or a background in media / journalism
    • 2+ years of managerial experience 
    • A deep understanding of the beauty industry, especially the Gen Z landscape and its digital consumption habits.
    • Strong social media exposure and marketing ability across multiple platforms
    • Creative and critical with a drive to create compelling content and storytelling
    • Experience in community marketing and management, especially with an independent or startup brand
    • Experience with social and data analytics tools such as in-app insights, social listening software, content and trend trackers, and advertising analytics
    • Experience with relationship management and exposure to contractual agreement standards and compliance management
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with opportunities to create new processes and structures from the ground up
    • Comfortable creating tools to track goals and measure progress, including presenting and communicating progress to others

    Job Information

    • Terms of employment: Full-Time
    • Salary: $90,000 + bonus
    • Location: NYC, in-office 2x / week
